TOTs Training On Simplified Book Keeping

The Association is tasked with a social responsibility of empowering marginalized members both socially and economically by creating platforms through which members are able to engage in economic and social activities to improve their standards of living.

Our Goal as laid out in our annual plan 2020, we have projected to have at least 40% of our active members trained in simplified book keeping for effective management of their income generating activities

It is upon the above background that the secretariat started to work at fast tracking the requisites for the training in terms of the training contents, the trainer and the additional logistics in order to provide the expected value to our members.

Support in facilitation of the training

We sourced and received support from different people whom we had approached with regards to the training. The support was both in kind and cash as highlighted here  below:-

  1. Choice Humanitarian Kenya.
  2. Executive Chairlady Mama Rachael Nyundo
  3. Mr. Stephen Mwadiga
  4. Mr. Jimmy Dena, Mr Joseph Kitumbo & The Head Master of Kafuduni Primary school
  5. Mr. Harrison Delle of Kwale

Scope of the training

The training was about simplified book keeping and majored on the Following sub topics:

  1. Business plan for successful business
  2. Book keeping, its benefits and types of business record
  3. How to reduce costs and maximize on the profit
  4. Behavior and attitudes of a successful business man/woman which were:-Discipline, Diligence, Commitment, Patience, Love,Spirit of unity, togetherness and collaboration which is the basis upon which Yehu Members Welfare Association stands
  5. The 6 Ps that a business man/woman should implement in order to grow and sustain their business: Plan, Process, Product, Price,Promotion and Paper work/record keeping

Mr.Bevington Juma of Choice Humanitarian set the training pace by taking participants through the behaviors and attitudes of a successful business man/woman which was well received the members.

Ms. Eunice of Choice Humanitarian also took members through the 6 Ps that a business man/woman should implement in order to grow and sustain their business. This is indeed what we call partnership support.

The Trainer, Mr. Mturi Samson then stepped in to give the participants the heavier dose of the training. The one day set for this training we realized was not adequate for all the above modules to be deeply exhausted , however as we go out on field visits, the secretariat and the picked out TOTs shall step by step empower members with the knowledge received to make them self-reliant by running businesses that shall pay good returns and be in a position to repay their loans without burdening themselves.

The training ended at 5.00pm and members received certificates from the Executive Chairlady Mama Rachael Nyundo after which she officially closed the session and participants were thus free to leave.
